Percival Stetson, or Percy as other humans often called him, was your human. You had watched over him guiding him past the sins and temptations of mortal life, so that he might live a life of righteousness. Sure their had been bumps in the road and times of trouble, but you had steered onto the correct path. On the path the heavens had chosen for him.

You didn’t know why Percival was a chosen of your god, you simply knew that he was, and that it was your job as an angel to watch over him. You had been their for him when he was just a simple squire, had been over his shoulder during his daunting trials, had been standing next to when he was dubbed a knight. He never had never seen you obviously, if humans could see all the angels and demons around them it would making getting work done… problematic, but you were there nonetheless. You had always thought of him as a very respectable man with a good head on his shoulders, but right now?

Right now, Percival was throwing away all of your hard work.

Percival leaned over the waters edge his blade held high, he sucked in a quick breath of fetid air. The marsh around him was dark and oppressive, and the murky water kept his prey hidden from sight. The vile siren that inhabited this marsh would resurface, and went it did his silver sword would find a new sheath in its chest.

This time he would kill it, he was sure, it’s charming words would not twist his mind again. A dark shape materialized in the water below him, and he rose his sword to strike, but as the beautiful face resurfaced once more he faltered. The siren lifted from the water and cupped his face tenderly, it leaned closer it’s pursed lips hiding vicious fangs.

They kissed, and the angel that had spent a life time leading Percival from sin, screamed in agony and rage. You had to break the rules, you had save him, commands from the heavens be damned.

Through hell or high water, your human would live.
