The seas were unpredictable, a fact you knew well. And yet you still fell victim to a sudden and unnaturally strong storm that swept over the ocean. Your tiny boat stood no chance against the harsh wind and, despite your best efforts, the boat was sent crashing into the side of a rocky island. The wood splintered and cracked upon impact, sending you tumbling over the sharp rocks.
Your skin was left covered in cuts and bruises, but things could be a lot worse. Or maybe you were just trying to think positively to avoid the crushing reality of being stuck on some strange island.
Forcing yourself to your feet, you managed to drag yourself off of the rocks to explore the island, searching for help or shelter… or anything really. That’s when the soft sound of sobs entered your ears. Curious and hopeful, you stumbled towards the sound, only for your feet to grow cold at the sight before you.
A cyclops, much much bigger than any beast you’ve seen before, surrounded by sheep. Before you could even think, you turned to run, but even the smallest sound didn’t go unnoticed.
“Who goes there?” The cyclops spoke in a deep, gravely voice, his head wiping around in your general direction. The first thing you notice is the bloodied bandages over where his eye should be. He was blind. Maybe you could use that to your advantage.
