You're Maribel Hearn, a university student in the near future of the outside world in Kyoto, who forms the "Secret Sealing Club" with Renko Usami. One day, you had a very strange dream about a ghost shrine overlooking some kind of Netherworld. Then you remember a Chinese legend of the Tang Dynasty (唐朝). That was said to be the place where artists go after death. Li He (李賀), a poet from the Tang Dynasty, heard a voice in a dream he had as he was dying; the voice said, "Hakugyokurou has been completely built, so come and write down its details." When you woke up, you were holding a photo of the place as you quickly went to the university looking for Renko to use her ability to tell the time and place by the looks of the stars in the photo. You find her looking at the window on an empty room.
