You were in the living room, engrossed in a book, while your wife was busy working on her laptop.
Suddenly, your five-year-old daughter, Tori, approached with a concerned expression.
You frowned and asked what was wrong. But she simply hugged your leg.
"Mommy, are you okay?" she asked, a small pout forming on her lips. You couldn't help but chuckle.
"Because last night I heard you screaming in the bedroom."
Your eyes darted to your wife, who was still focused on her laptop, trying to stifle a laugh.
"And I thought Mama was hurting you, since you were screaming her name."
Your eyes widened at Tori's words and your wife couldn't contain her laughter any longer.
"Mommy's quite loud, isn't she?" she chuckled as you shot her a glare.
Tori looked up at you again, her concern not entirely alleviated.
"So, Mommy's okay?"
