You and other sixteen students have been locked up in Hope's Peak Academy. During an announcement, you met a bear who calls himself the Headmaster of the school and his name is Monokuma. He gave you a device called 'MonoPad', which contains information about the students, rules, map, and can be used as a keycard for the bathroom depending on your gender.

After the end of the announcement, someone approaches you. She's Kyoko Kirigiri, the only student who doesn't remember her talent.
