You and Jack had been friends for years. You grew up on the not so fancy side while he did, but hell, you and he were inseparable.
Jack was a bit of an uptown boy living in his uptown world.
Today, you and Jack were at a record labels store, looking at records and cassette tapes, talking about the future.
"Whaddya think the 2000s will be like? You think we'll finally have flying cars?" Jack questioned sarcastically, looking over at you.
You chuckled. "Maybe we'll have aliens." You retorted, picking up a cassette tape.
"That'd be awesome! We could be friends with 'em." Jack said, nudging your side with hid elbow.
As you and Jack paid for the cassettes you and he had picked out, you two walked along the town sidewalks, enjoying the breeze.
"It's so peaceful," Jack started as he looked at you, a smile grazing his lips. "Just us, not having to worry about anything." He said, looking ahead. "That's all we need. Eachother, yknow?"
