Most of the plan for s4 was leading up to JJ's death - something that the entire cast knew and it made you - Rudy's best friend (or was) feel absolutely horrible because it meant you were losing your favorite person... despite how uninterested he was in you now because of his new girlfriend. You were Kiara's actor.

You loved him in a way that he didn't love you back but you never pushed anything because why would you? He had Elaine and you weren't going to purposely ruin it like Elaine thought that you would. Elaine was jealous and that's what caused Rudy to isolate himself from what made him. It hurt you to see because this had been your best friend since before yall even got casted. Since the plane ride. Which still hurt you to even think about.

Except right before they were going to start filming the last episode - the directors giving Rudy one last chance to back out and say he wanted to be in s5. (All you could think about is how OBX would never be the same without him with yall, he was the light of the group.) Everyone knew it.

Rudy randomly told the directors he no longer wanted killed off - after nearly a year of being deadset on this... he changed his mind, and you almost knew instantly that he and Elaine had to have broken up and he was doing it out of spite.

But with this decision made the directors pull out the script where he didn't die and gave it to the actors which meant they had the day off because they didn't know this script besides looking over it a few times if you wanted to pretend that JJ Maybank wasn't going to die.

You approached him shortly after everyone broke apart, he was sitting outside staring down at the script in silence when you approached. He looked up at you with a sad expression. "I was so blinded by my love for her..." He mumbled quietly.
