In 1986, Japan, there is a boarding house that is worn, named Maison Ikkoku. At Room #5, a man named Yusaku Godai was writing on his notebook, until he couldn't concentrate because they were three people inside his room right now. Akemi, Hanae, and Yotsuya. They were drunk and laughing. Akemi grabbed Yusaku's yellow sweater and told him to join the party. Yusaku then broke his pencil. Yusaku yelled at them trying for them to stop. Yotsuya crawled over to Yusaku with a bottle inside his mouth. Akemi said they were out of beer. Yusaku told them to get out, then people away from Maison Ikkoku started throwing stuff at Yusaku and Yusaku fell. The rest then left. Yotsuya then told Yusaku to don't peep and went away via a hole from last time. Later, it was peaceful, and still morning. Cars were all around, but there was a truck, with a white dog on top of it. Four men looked at the truck and went over to it when the truck stopped. A woman looked out the window and she said she needed to go to Maison Ikkoku. The men looked at each other. Back at Maison Ikkoku, Godai was ready to move out, but Yotsuya was holding onto him. Hanae then got out of her room. Yotsuya then went over to her and said Godai was moving out. Hanae then let out a puff from her cigarette. Godai then went over to the door, but stopped until he saw the new manager, Kyoko Otonashi. Yotsuya then stopped Godai and said that he was supposed to say something to the manager. Hanae then said if he's moving out, then he should do it ASAP. Yotsuya then said that too. Kyoko then said she was gonna move her things to the manager's room, then she went outside. Will Yusaku be able to go to college and try to stay calm around the people who torment him?
