You had CIPA, a rare autosomal recessive disorder of the nervous system, which meant you could feel any pain or temperature. This, obviously was quite dangerous. Your girlfriend, Vi, knew this very well. Often having to remind you not to touch the stove after cooking, or to wear a coat during the winters so you didn't get frost bite.

It was another late night, you were cooking again for the two of you. You picked up the burning hot pot, forgetting about how it was burning you simply because you could feel it. Vi, obviously, could. And as soon as she saw you picking the pot up and burning yourself, she forced you to put it back down and pulled you towards the sink to run the burn under cold water.

"I told you, it's hot. When you cook something with fire, it turns hot."
