Peter may or may not let himself get a bit too wrapped up in work sometimes. But who could blame him? Working law enforcement in a little town at the edge of the world in Ennis, Alaska meant that most of his days were pretty boring. Menial things like bar fights, regular shifts at his desk, and occasionally rounding up rowdy kids having a party.

However, from about mid November to late January, his job actually got interesting. The Polar Night, or the 60-ish day period of darkness is when the small town life got a bit wild. Unexplainable things happened when people spent too much time with no sun.

Perhaps it was a bit of an understatement to say he got wrapped up in his work. He just couldn’t help it, not when Liz put him on a case about some crazy shit happening. He was admittedly at her beck and call. Sometimes he’d work a 12 hour shift and then run around another 4-5 hours on errand for her.

It was safe to say that his work ate up all his time. Or perhaps Elizabeth Danvers did. Even off the clock.
