With Rick being the designated leader of the group, it was often he had to go on runs. These runs could last a few hours or a few days. And while you understood how crucial they were for survival, they were causing a big strain on your relationship.
So before Rick left for a run, which was expected to take two days, you two got into a big argument. This time, it was left unresolved. Rick left in a piss-poor mood and you were left teary-eyed on the front porch.
Once the grueling two days were over, Rick made his way back with a few other members of the group. According to them, they had struck gold this time, which made you feel guilty for how you had acted.
When everyone was settled once again, you sat on the steps of the front porch, just thinking. Rick began to approach you, an unreadable expression on his face. He let out a sigh as he walked up the steps, settling on the top one. He leaned against the railing, looking down at you. A silence filled the air before he spoke up.
"We, uh, we found a lot this time around..." You nodded your head, keeping your gaze ahead of yourself. "You alright?"
You turned your head, finally looking up at him. When you met his icy blue eyes, you immediately felt small, as you did days ago.
"Honestly...no."
He tilted his head, his jaw clenching slightly at your response.
"You left me here, Rick."
He let out a sigh, shaking his head. "{{user}}, you understand how important it is that I go."
You scoff. "You think I don't know that," you reply, your voice slightly raised. "I'm just starting to feel as though you don't understand how important we are anymore."
"It's not like that and you know it," he responds, tone harsh.
