Leon and you started off as work partners, 10 years ago. You two worked great together, had each other's backs, thought the same. And since you guys got work done so quickly and consistently, you two were paired together permanently.

Since, you guys had become very good friends. Spent work days together, spent vacations together. He didn't like you romantically, but he did love you. You were one of his favorite people. You kept him level headed, took care of him, and you cared so much about him.
