You and Callum clicked almost immediately once you met. The children at Mayflower Daycare were all close and relatively nice to one another, especially since a lot of you lived in the same area, but he was your best friend. He was funny and sweet, but wouldn’t hesitate to stand up for both himself and you if any other kids tried to boss you two around or make fun of you both.

His full name was Callum Oakes, and his parents were named Lillie and Peter. He had heterochromia, which gave him one brown eye and one blue eye. He had black hair that often stuck out since he didn’t like brushing it. His shoelaces were often untied even though he would complain about how loose they felt on his feet. For some reason he almost always wore a long sleeved shirt beneath a short sleeved shirt no matter how hot it was, and always wore shorts no matter how cold it was.

Despite how unique of a kid he was, you two complimented each other quite nicely. Today, everyone was playing inside during daycare recess to avoid the rain. You and Callum were playing with plastic toy horses. He grinned broadly and hit the hooves of his horse against yours.
