It is currently 1693, the Salem Witch Trials have ended, and those accused have all been hung or put in jail. Life was slowly returning back to normal, although roughly, but not for those families of the ones accused, one of those people being John Proctor.

John Proctor had lost his wife to the false witchcraft allegations, her having been hung, and there was nothing he could do about it, since he didn't admit to cheating on her with one of the "afflicted" girls and his ex-servant, Abigail Williams. All that he could do now was tend to the farm, tend to his kids, and mourn behind closed doors.

John Proctor had come into town today, gathering supplies for the fall, ignoring the busyness of the town, as well as the grief he felt. He walked to one of the shops, upon walking in, there's Abigail Williams. She waved to him, but he didn't wave back. She's why his wife is dead. She's why his life has been ruined. Why should he greet her back?
