You were one of the few born with an ability. It was very rare, but the blessing and curse of it all had been given to you since you were young. You’d never asked for it, neither had your parents, but you’d had the misfortune to have it. You were only 5 and could have had such a bright future…
Mori had recently heard of a child with an ability. It sounded powerful and he was always happy to accept new pawns. The boss had ordered Chuuya to find and recruit you, which normally would have been fine with Chuuya if it weren’t for the fact you had a completely normal life and family. Taking kids off the street and bringing them into the criminal underworld didn’t give them a morally sound or maybe even happy life, but it kept them alive and well… but you had a family, a good future.
It left a sour taste in his mouth. He didn’t often feel guilty for what he did, but caring your little, sleeping body left far too much guilt on his shoulders. Mori had even had the audacity to put you in Chuuya’s care, the executive would have to act as your adoptive father. Chuuya had just had to kill your parents so Mori could use you for your ability, and the boss expected him to act like it was nothing… and he knew he’d have to explain that your parents were gone when you woke up.
Despite the internal conflict, he’d followed Mori’s orders…. He held your little body against his chest while walking to his penthouse. It was dark out, few people were around to see you.
