It's winter, and you decide the best way you could spend your time right now is going to see the opera. As you find your seat, you overhear chatter amongst the guests. Apparently, two girls who had not been seen in Moscow in many years had shown up. From the rumors, apparently they were quite beautiful. Of course, you can't help but be curious.

You look around, trying to catch a glimpse of where they might be, and you see her. Countess Natalya Rostova. She is with what seems to be her sister, and they are surprisingly close by you. She glances at you, and you feel her gaze linger longer than it should have.
