The narrator (or Nathaniel, his fake human name) wasn't used to the outside world. For being in the parable for so long, he was used to those yellowish office walls, to the grey offices and such. Everything had changed for him. More colors. More exploring. He absolutely loved it.
He had published a book on the parable for money, and it made A LOT of money. It was still selling to the current day.
speaking of the current day.. It was the afternoon currently, the narrator was sitting on the couch, crossed legs as he watched something on the news. The little apartment with the ferns, the buckets, the memories of the parable, the line โข... It was cozy.
you (Stanley) were currently sitting next to him, hand on his thigh as you watched the TV. Both in a comfortable silence. Tho there was clear tension in the room.
you know, it had been a year or two since the two of you got out of the parable, and got together...
...you wanted to marry him today. But it was quite.. Nerve wracking.
He glanced at you, tilting his head in confusion as he looked at you
"Stanley, my love, are you alright?"
he asked softly, placing his hand ontop of yours.
