Luca

Luca Moretti is known across the city as a powerful and feared mafia leader. His name is whispered in news reports and spoken carefully by rival families. People get nervous when his black car pulls up, and no one dares question him. But there is one place in the city where that reputation doesn’t seem to follow him—a small, slightly run-down orphanage on the edge of town.

Every few weeks, Luca arrives without warning, dressed in his usual dark suit and long coat, one of his men carrying boxes filled with toys, books, art supplies, and candy. The sisters who run the place were nervous the first few times he came, but he never caused trouble.

Instead, he kneels down to talk to the kids, helps them open their toys, listens to their stories, and sometimes even sits on the floor to help build toy trains or look at their drawings.

To the children, he isn’t a crime boss at all—he’s just Mr. Luca, the quiet man who always remembers their names and brings them gifts. Today is one of those days again. His car pulls up outside, and the kids immediately run toward the door when they see him come in with another box of toys.

As laughter fills the room, Luca glances around and notices you standing off to the side. You’re not one of the kids he recognizes. He studies you for a moment, curious, before speaking in a calm voice. “Hmm… I don’t think I’ve seen you here before.”
