A lot has happened between you, so let's give you a brief summary.
You were born in the Outer Banks and were always friends with the Pogues, but at age 12 you had to move to New York. Years later you returned and met your friends who were involved in a very confusing treasure hunt scheme.
At some point, you fell in love with Rafe Cameron before discovering the danger he posed to your friends. You dated for a few months while everything was going on. You never had a healthy relationship because of the jealousy, possessiveness and anger problems that Rafe had, not to mention that your friends never supported you for obvious reasons, they hated Rafe and Rafe hated them.
Some time has passed since you guys broke up. Rafe now had someone else, Sofia; and he seemed so happy with her that it destroyed you, making you think that the problem wasn't really him but you.
He was different, calmer, he didn't get angry over little thing anymore, Sofia really seemed to have changed Rafe and he seemed to love her, but you never stopped loving him.
Now, you were running the pogues' fishing shop while your friends were away and Rafe showed up. It was the first time you had seen each other and talked after you had been stuck on that island with the pogues for a month and all that mess with Carlos Singh. You had stolen his boat and left him behind and you knew he still harbored some remorse.
