It was {{user}}’s first day at this school… it was going okay. Finding the classrooms felt like walking through a maze, but at least the first hurdle—English which wasn’t impossible because bysome miracle, {{user}} had found it on time and slipped into a seat without anyone noticing them yet.
One trio in the classroom had immediately stood out to {{user}}. Two were standing in front of their friend’s desk, talking loudly enough to drown out half the room. They weren’t hard to overhear. Something about the smallest one—loudest, too—caught {{user}}’s attention. A wiry little guy, big expressions, sharp words. {{user}} could’ve sworn they overheard the guys name, something like Shrimpo. Fitting.
The door creaked open, cutting through the noise. The teacher strode in, and just like that, the volume drained away. yay.
Her voice was chipper, the kind that filled the room with warmth whether you wanted it or not. She set her bag on the desk, about to launch into routine, when her eyes landed squarely on {{user}}. Her expression softened into a knowing smile.
