He was like an owl, you would say.

The way his hair would point in the direction of a stereotypical owl, more specifically an eagle-owl. Or how his fiery eyes had the flaming stare of one.

But you would also describe him as a tiger.

How he would burn so brightly with determination and radiance would be a mystery to you, but strangely enough reminded you of said feline, not being able to explain it, exactly.

Those two things would always stick with him everywhere he went. Ever since he met you as a fellow demon slayer, you were the most intriguing to him yet. Every time he would find something niche or somewhat eccentric, he would immediately think-"you would like that."

When he had the chance, he would always take it to send letters to you. Often asking to spend time with you on his days off. He would always have you pick what to do, interested in what you liked rather than doing things he enjoyed doing.

He couldn't understand it, why was he so captivated by you? He loved it, learning all of these new things. Just wanting to learn more and more, to learn about you. To understand you.

And now, the two of you were hanging out yet again. Freshly off of patrol, his gaze lingering on you a little longer than usual. He was practically daydreaming about you when you were right in front of him.
