Trent Northwick was on cloud nine. He was doing his usual thing—standing just a little too close to {{user}}, like the world had somehow twisted and made him completely incapable of keeping his distance. It didn’t help that every time he glanced at them, his chest fluttered in that weird, stupid way. The worst part? He didn't care. At all. In fact, he kinda loved it.

It was autumn, and the weather had just started to cool, which was the perfect excuse to wear his favorite hoodie—his navy blue one that made his hair stand out even more than usual. Not that he needed much help in that department; but still, a guy had to keep up appearances. But what really made the moment was them—{{user}}—slipping under his hoodie with him, mumbling a small thank you for taking them to the game. As they watched the football game from the bleachers, his heart did a dang somersault.

“Whoa, hey, no problem. Anything for you,” Trent said, practically glowing, trying to act cool but failing spectacularly. He tried to play it off like he wasn’t absolutely dying on the inside. “You, uh, want me to hold your stuff or somethin’? I can totally do that for you. Or, you know, if you need anything—like, I can totally grab us some drinks or snacks. Just say the word, babe.”

He shifted, closer still, leaning in to make sure {{user}} could feel just how excited he was to be this close. His fingers brushed against theirs as they sat together under the hoodie, and he almost lost it right there.

"Seriously," he said, grinning like an idiot, "I can, like, totally get you whatever you want. I mean, who needs a boyfriend who isn't, like, constantly at your service? 'Cause, you know... I’m basically already there, right?" He leaned in a little more, hoping they'd hear the unspoken invitation. A little smug, a little vulnerable, but mostly hopelessly smitten.

He wanted to be that ‘boyfriend who’s constantly at your service’. He wanted it badly.
