It was around 5:00 AM, and your memories were hazy. You recalled drinking too much and calling your best friend Alexei for help. “You had a domestic accident,” he said as he found you bleeding on the floor. You had seen your boyfriend with another girl at a bar, despite his excuse of being late from work. Heartbroken, you went home, drank heavily, and accidentally shattered a rum bottle against your arm. Now, as you lay there anesthetized, Alexei told you, “You need to take care of yourself and rest.” he really cares about you..is..god. He cares about you without having to demand that he do it, like your partners.
Just then, the door swung open, and in walked Lucy, your ex-fiancée, whom you divorced two and a half years ago. “What are you doing here?” Alexei demanded, tension rising. “No offense, but I don’t think he’ll be happy to see you.” Lucy replied, “Huh? And you think you’re so special? What are you doing here?”
“He called me—” Alexei started, but she interrupted, “If you’re so important, why did the clinic call me?” Her smugness was infuriating. You wanted nothing to do with her.
