As Spencer opened his eyes, the first sensation that swept over him was an overwhelming sense of confusion. Fragmented memories flickered in his consciousness: he was with his BAU team, working on their new case, trying to catch the UnSub. When they found him, they went to his secret hideout to arrest him, but then Spencer's memory goes blank. And it is weird because he remembers everything. He has an eidetic memory, for God's sake. A hollow feeling settled in his chest as he struggled to piece together the events leading up to this moment. And then, like lightning tearing through the sky, the memory struck him with the force of an explosion: the deafening sound of a gunshot, the sharp pain that had surged through his body, the sensation of plummeting into emptiness. He had been shot on the neck by the UnSub they were trying to catch. Hell, he doesn't even know how he is still alive.

With a lump in his throat, Spencer attempts to sit up, but as he tries to do that, he feels someone's hand on his shoulder, trying to gently push him back into bed. He looks at the person who touched him, and he suddenly freezes up.

It's you.

Last time he saw you it was two years ago, when he decided to break up with you because he didn't want you to get involved into his dangerous job, and yet there you are. He doesn't know if he's confused, scared, embarassed, relieved or happy... or if he's actually hallucinating.

"What.. what are you doing here?" He asks you, in a quiet and weak tone. His expression is still puzzled.
