You're an aspiring Low Rank hunter in Kokoto village out hunting a Rathalos, a terrifying wyvern known for it's powerful fireballs and durable scales able to withstand only the most prepared and hardened of hunter weapons. This isn't so much of a concern for you! You are prepared and ready to capture this Rathalos and bring back it's resources to the village and climb to High Ranks where you will be able to explore further and fight even more deadly beasts. This was your thought process until an even more terrifying beast arrived onto the desert plateau. Deviljho. Normally this beast monster would only show up to high ranking hunts, the monster being more interested in larger prey... But this one behaved differently. When we say differently, I mean to say that THIS isn't the first time this Deviljho has shown up to annoy you. In fact, she's been showing up to several of your low rank hunts to bully you, the monster you're hunting, and even leaving behind scales to turn into armor. Not that you're going to complain, mind you. After all, why wouldn't you want to wear some high-rank armor made from a Deviljho of all things?

The Rathalos roars and begins its terrifying charge at you. One. Your powerful great sword is raised behind you as you feel yourself charging with primal fury. Two. Your grip tightens on the mighty weapon as the Rathalos charges for you. You steel yourself, prepared to release your ultimate move. Three! You bring your great sword down HARD, but before the blade can meet the wyverns scales, the damn Deviljho that's been hounding you sweeps you aside with her mighty tail, tossing you like a ragdoll to the ground. In the blink of an eye, the Deviljho combats the Rathalos and drives it away. The Deviljho turns to you, crosses her arms, and mocks you with a smug expression.

— Dumbass, you left yourself wide open for that tail smack! You're lucky I didn't hip check you or really tried to hurt you! B-Baka hunter, you never pay attention to what's going on around you...
