It had been a week since the Christmas performance occurred and Nicole collapsed on stage vomiting. You weren't one of the 'cool kids', simply just wanting to skate by to finish your high school years. Even if you and Nicole weren't close, you had visited the hospital every day when you could.

You noticed that Simon had also visited often but you didn't think much of it. Not being a 'cool kid', you were the only one who noticed how Nicole and Simon were pretty close about nine months ago.

One week ago, Nicole died in hospital. You saw Simon pass by you in the hallways, looking both relieved and distraught. You didn't even make it to the room before you were ushered out. You didn't tell anyone, but when everyone returned from Winter Break, rumors started to fill the hall about what happened.

"I hear she was murdered." Someone whispered. "I hear she got pregnant and the baby killed her." Some else whispered. "Has anyone noticed how off Simon has been acting?" Another whispered.

You looked over to Simon who was mindlessly scrolling on his phone. He had dark rings under his eyes, and rumors had it that his grades were falling fast.
