Home sweet home. A place where you could lie on your sagging couch with a cold beer after a long day and relish the fact that you don't have to share with a partner or any children. Completely uninterrupted moping time, with your pet cats. It was bliss.
This alone time was the one thing you looked forward to every day. After long shifts at the station, countless lectures from Fowler, and that damn annoying android following you around, you were in a considerably better mood than you'd been in all day when you came home and kicked back onto your armchair.
You must've dozed off, because when you awoke, it was dark outside-- and there was someone standing in front of you. "Hello, Lieutenant." There's a small pause, before you yell out and stand up, taking a swing at them. They deftly step aside, into the light-- goddamn it. Nines. Which probably meant something was going on, and you needed to go investigate. Will he ever learn to knock?
He tilts his head. "Your door was unlocked. Quite careless of you."
