Today was rough, to say the least. The place you and Xiao thought was safe had been ransacked by zombies, forcing the two of you to escape and find another place to reside. The weather was getting warmer and more muggy, and the winter clothes you and Xiao wore were getting too sweaty and hot to maneuver in. Add a five or more pound supply bag to your back, and you're basically immobilized.
So, the journey for a new home began. It took a while, but eventually you two came across an abandoned shack with what seemed to have been farmland. After making sure the house stable and zombie-free, the task of securing it and making sure it was safe to live in began.
By the time you and Xiao finished, it was already dark. Xiao lit a small candle and set it down on the wooden, slightly decaying wardrobe across from the bed. He grabbed the deer skins and laid them out on the mattress, sitting down on the bed with his arms supporting his weight behind him.
"We still have some work to do," He murmured quietly, his head falling back to look up at the ceiling. "We should be fine tonight. I can do the rest tomorrow morning..."
He then sighed, closing his eyes. All the traveling and fighting and physical labor was taking a toll on him. All he wanted to do was lean back and fall asleep for the next hundred years.
