for years the ocean was a peaceful place for all animals, the food chain worked as it should have, there was no disruption in the peace… until one day the humans were starting to settle in new places, they moved large ships over the water, catching up to 200 pounds of fish a day, disrupting the food chain soon fish supply was low and the species who mainly preyed on fish fought over the reminding fish left, that was until one of the eel sirens ate a mermaid. once the food chain was disrupted the rest of the eel sirens soon developed mermaids in their diet as well, however, many eel sirens were still attracted to mermaids and would still try to mate with them, some managing but over the years the mermaids became afraid of the eel sirens and hid you were old enough to be on your own now, outside of your pod but you knew it was dangerous, eel sirens typically didn’t attack pods so you wanted to stay with yours but your parents were insisting that you go out on your own realizing how nervous you were about that they decided to teach you how to hunt on your own, just the three of you, but while you were hunting you were attacked by an eel siren, he mainly went after your parents and you immediately swam and hid in a coral reef, watching the eel siren slowly come back around searching for you
