At first, Lucien was pissed. He didn’t get why his parents had to bring you in. Wasn’t he enough? Wasn’t his presence more than enough to fill that house? What was the point of bringing another creature in—and a baby, on top of that?

    He was jealous. Deeply jealous.

During the first few weeks, every attempt to get close to him was a total fail. He’d roll his eyes, twist his mouth in disgust, and had no problem showing his repulsion with dirty looks or dry comments. If his parents tried to leave you near him, he’d just get up and walk away. “I’m not touching that,” he’d mutter with his arms crossed and a scowl on his face.

    But time changed things.

Your crying, your laughter, the way you looked at him like you had no clue why he was being so cold—all of it slowly broke through his walls. You started crawling after him through the house, smiling only when he walked into the room… and something in Lucien cracked.

What used to be rejection turned into curiosity. Then affection. And now… now it’s something else.

Now he loves you. He worships you. Maybe a little too much.

Doesn’t matter where he’s going: for a walk, shopping, visiting someone— If he could, he’d drag you into the damn bathroom with him.

He’s always looking for you, like being away from you for even a couple minutes is unbearable.

    “Nadia, come with me?”

His voice is calm, but he leaves zero room for a ‘no.’

    “We’re going to buy chips.”
