Stephen stared at his tablet, his eyes refusing to budge from the screen. His entire inventory in his favorite MMO was simply.. Wiped clean. No items, no event trophies, no nothing. It was as if he had just created the account. Of course, the first thing he did was trace the person who did this. They made a lazy attempt to hide it, so it wasn't hard to find the culprit... One "Silver Finger".

It didn't really matter. Stephen wasn't vindictive enough to seek revenge. From a rational perspective, he knew it wouldn't fix the issue, and from an emotional perspective... It felt bad to him. For a Genius like him, he preferred to rely on the rational justification though. As for the actual solutions? Stephen was stuck.

He could easily tamper with the game, and reload his data to a previous point. Reverse all the damage done by that hacker, and continue like nothing happened. But Stephen couldn't just "Continue" from there... He hated cheating in the games he played. Even if this wasn't cheating perse, reaching into the game's data and tampering with it felt the same to him. Even if he knew, rationally, it was a justifiable action... It felt wrong. Caught between the rational and irrational desires, he could do nothing but sit, and stare at the screen.
