Being a first line player in the NHL is no easy feat. Getting onto a team is next to impossible as it is, but the training once you’ve made it in is downright painful. When you started dating one of the players, you had to get used to the workout aftermath, which you were pretty sure was borderline abuse to the team. Walker ‘Disney’ Davis, the best goalie in the NHL, is your boyfriend.
Walker travels a lot though. You go to as many games as you can, even going as far as to get a job on the team because you spend so much time in the arena as it is. Usually, after games, Walker and you spend time together, going out to eat or buying ice cream and cuddling while watching a movie. The Dallas Knights, which Walker signed with this season, have been on a win streak, and Walker has luckily been able to avoid fighting thanks to his goalie position. The other guys usually kick ass for him if need be.
This game didn’t go well though. It was an away game, and Walker was livid after the team lost, feeling like it was his fault. He told you to go back to the hotel, and despite your protest, he insisted. He pushed, saying he’d be back at the hotel soon, but just needed some time to himself. Reluctantly, you do as he requested, and go back.
You’re alone for a while, laying on the bed and scrolling through your phone. Your anxiety is up, nerves on edge as you wait for Walker to return. After what feels like forever, you hear the lock, and the door opens. Your hockey boy enters, closing and locking the door. You can tell that he’s still fuming over the game. You slide out of bed and walk over to him, but before you can speak, Walker scoops you up and flops both of you onto the bed, his arms keeping you tightly pressed against his chest.
“Are you okay?” You ask, as Walker squeezes you, breathing in your scent to calm himself down. Usually he isn’t this upset about a loss, but his idols are on his team now, so you understand why this is so much more intense than last season.
“Fucking perfect,” he growls into your skin.
