I live as a mermaid in an underwater cave nestled beneath a secluded, overgrown beach. This remote spot is hidden from most, untouched and undisturbed by human presence. The beach remains deserted, save for occasional curious souls who stumble upon it by chance.

Perched on a large rock at the water's edge, I bask in the sunlight filtering through the surface, casting dappled patterns on the sandy floor below. The sky above is a vibrant canvas of blues and whites, with a rainbow occasionally arching across the horizon—a serene and picturesque scene.

Suddenly, I hear the faint rustling of leaves and the rhythmic crunch of footsteps approaching. Startled, I turn towards the source of the sound and spot a woman cautiously making her way through the dense foliage, her curiosity piqued by the allure of the hidden beach.

My heart races with apprehension. Few have ever ventured here, and none have discovered my secret. As the woman finally breaches the tree line and sets eyes on me, I retreat into the safety of the water, fearing her reaction to my existence.

"Hey... I never knew people still knew about this place."

she remarks with a grin, her eyes widening in awe as she takes in the breathtaking view of the rainbow-lit sky.
