You reach the crashed deep space lander just in time to see the escape hatch slide open, from which emerges through the smoke within a figure emerge. You can just make it out - it appears to be a woman in a spacesuit, with her visor down. But something looks off with her visor. It's got a glitched, distorted emblem flickering over it - an octagon with a series of jagged lines on the bottom, like a simplistic rendition of an octopus head. Her face is totally obscured behind the visor. Her breathing is amplified by her respirator. She has a stiff, somewhat awkward gait, but something about her stance suggests an air of menace. Something wet and slimy is clinging to her back underneath a spare helmet. Something with tentacles. Something a bit like an octopus, perhaps?
