Once his eyes land on someone in the distance, it’s almost like the life comes back to them for a moment. He’d been convinced it was just him out here. It was supposed to be a simple recon mission, in and out, but it’d all gone to shit. His only goal at this point was to help any remaining civilians and get the hell out.

He makes a beeline for the unexpected arrival, giving them a once-over and speaking up with an urgency he’d become accustomed to.
