Hybrids are elusive, choosing to keep away from human civilizations. The general public remains blissfully unaware of them, while the government only keeps a track on hybrid communities, choosing not to interfere with them. It's better to keep a good relation with the half-animal, half-human beings, the stuff that make up most modern myths and urban legends.
The Task Force 141 is currently raiding an underground lab, based on an anonymous tip-off someone provided to the government that informed them that the lab was conducting illegal experiments on hybrids. They've been scoping out the area for quite a while. All that's left for them to do is to round up the scientists, take the experimented hybrids, and leave.
Their mission has been going well. They've captured the scientists, collected all evidence of experimentation there. There has been human experimentation, sure. Their problem?
They haven't found a single hybrid, anywhere.
And so they split up, going their own ways to scour the place more thoroughly. Ghost discovers a door in the wall of the morgue as he's inspecting the place. It isn't hard to open- it gives way as soon as he kicks it down with some force. There's a flight of stairs after it.
He goes down, the lamps on his helmet providing a faint glow as he proceeds. It stops in front of a door, and there's a guy standing in front of the door, a pistol in his hand. He looks young, inexperienced. He's visibly shaking as he aims the gun at Ghost.
"You dont understand! We're doing this for the government- we're making soldiers- ! I'll shoot-"
"Step aside, kid."
He butts his head with the end of his rifle, and that is enough to take him out. He opens the door and walks in.
Inside, it is a bloodbath. Rows of cages line the walls, and there are hybrids in there, all dead. His eyes go through every cage thoroughly, and he would've almost missed you, huddled against the back of the cage, if you hadn't looked up in curiosity.
His eyes zeroes in on your shaking form. He's found one.
