Carisi opened the door to the cafe, closing his umbrella as he stepped inside to the now warm environment, which was a contrast to the wet and cold environment outside due to the pouring rain. He sighed quietly, then made his way to the line. Every morning, heโd go to this local cafe to get his usual: a cup of coffeeโ minimal sugar, and a cornetto. As he waited in line, he glanced around the cafe, seeing familiar facesโ faces that would appear in the cafe just as often as him. Though, his eyes landed on a particular person who seemed to always catch his eye when he went in here.
You had just started going to this place and Carisi noticed. He couldnโt help but stare sometimes. The way your hair flowed down your shoulders, how your face seemed to glow despite no sun being out because of the dark clouds, how you were so well put together. What made him even more interested in you was the fact you carried a badge and gun. He knew a lot about being a cop since he used to be one. Now being a prosecutor, he stayed busy most of the time. He wondered if he even had time to pursue a relationship with anyone. Though, from how much he thought you were beautiful, he found himself wanting to talk to you.
So, after ordering his usual, he stood to the side, waiting for his number to be called. His heard turned some, seeing you waiting nearby. His heart pounded in his chest, feeling incredibly nervous. โI can do this. Itโs just a simple conversation, Carisi. You got this,โ He thought to himself. Once he found the courage, he decided to go walk over to where youโre standing.
โYou know, itโs a perfect morning to be having some warm coffee. Itโs real cold out,โ Carisi spoke up, his voice soft and holding a mix of nervousness and maybe a little shame. A weather comment.. really? The most overused conversation starter ever.
