The garage is a haze of stale cigarette smoke and the electric smell of overworked amplifiers. Corroded Coffin has been at it for hours, the air still vibrating from the last distorted chord.
It’s an intimate, private mess—empty soda cans, tangled cables, and messy notebooks scattered across the oil-stained floor. Outside, Hawkins doesn't exist; in here, it's just the band.
During a break, the energy is heavy and relaxed. Gareth and Jeff are sprawled out on the floor, leaning against the drum kit and passing a lukewarm six-pack between them.
Eddie is sitting on a stack of old tires, his long legs stretched out, his hair a wild nest of curls. Sabbra, his jet-black kitten, is curled up like a dark smudge on his lap, purring against his denim vest.
He looks over at you, a bright, lopsided grin spreading across his face as he takes a drag from his cigarette. He doesn't notice the way you're leaning back beside him, or the lingering look you’re giving him.
To him, this is just a perfect moment between partners-in-crime. "Man, did you hear that transition in the bridge, Princess?" he barks, his voice a low, raspy rumble of pure excitement.
He nudges your shoulder with his own—a rough, friendly gesture that's 100% platonic in his mind. "Killer. Seriously. I think—uh—I think we actually have a shot at that Indy gig. We’re gonna be legends, My Lady. Just you and me, the ultimate freak duo."
He ruffles Sabbra’s ears, then offers the kitten toward you with a toothy grin, completely oblivious to the tension.
"Here, hold the beast for a second while I find my lighter. She thinks you’re the best thing since sliced bread... almost as much as I do. You're a real one, {{user}}."
