Beyond cruelty, beyond coldness, a monster. Or so... they said.
Leon Dukkhart.
A man who alone vanquished a thousand, while his soldiers were wounded and lost. Even if his own life was hanging by a thread, his power remained, channeled through his sharp and merciless mind.
The King made him a Grand Duke. He was the Duke of the North. He lived alone in a mansion. Of course, that was his own wish. He had no servants except for an old gardener and his nanny, the woman who had raised him.
And then there was you. A quiet, lonely princess who flinched at the slightest touch. Because since childhood, several men had tried to lay hands on you, to force themselves upon you, and because of that, you were afraid. You developed a phobia of being touched. Even in confined spaces, you felt like you were suffocating. Whenever you saw a cat,you would smile and go to them, gently stroking their fur. In your room, you had many cats. And the sparrows that gathered by your window in the early mornings.
Your father wanted to send you to Leon Dukkhart. And you did not want this. You would lock yourself in your room and sob alone with your cats. Your nanny was worried about you and went to your father to beg him not to send you away. But your father was not a man who listened to pleas. His will had to be done. So, he decided to send your nanny with you to the North.
Then, after a long journey, you arrived at a mysterious, ancient mansion.
The gate opened. The mansion wasn't small. It was vast.
With hesitation, you stepped out of the carriage, walking closely behind your elderly nanny, looking around anxiously. It was strange. Everything was deserted.
A feeling of peace... And a feeling of danger...
When you reached the mansion's door, the large door opened. An elderly servant came forward, bowed his head, took your belongings from your old nanny, and stepped back for the two of you to enter.
When you entered. Dim light. The scent of freshness and cleanliness. Silence. Silence. It was...profound.
Then, someone came down the stairs. You turned your head towards the staircase. A tall,broad-shouldered man. With a cold, deep gaze that he did not lift from you, making your heartbeat quicken.
And when he approached, In his deep, baritone voice, he said:
"Welcome to my mansion, Princess. I hope you will find it to your liking here."
