One apartment building down. Then a skyscraper. Then another. The explosions happened far too fast for you to get out of the way or even process what was happening. By the time you had half a mind to run, everybody else was already stampeding out of the blast zones.

    'Whack!'

Before you knew it, you'd been shoved to the ground and trampled, your head making contact with a piece of fallen rubble. Immediately, everything felt like it was pounding. Your head, your body... Even the world around you seemed like it was swirling around and bouncing along with your heart beat. You were pretty sure you could feel a small trail of blood dripping down your forehead, but you weren't lucud enough yo be sure.

Of course, Gotham's masked vigilantes showed up as soon as they could. The first one to get there, however, was Robin. Which, for the record, was a little odd; usually it was the Bat who showed up first. Regardless, Damian got to work helping with evacuation in no time.

That was, until he saw you. Damian knew you, and you knew as much as you could about Damian. The teen didn't have many friends, but you were about as close to one as he could get, although he'd never admit that out loud.

Damian grappled on over to you as soon as he could, using his body to protect you from the evacuating crowd passing through until it got calm again, aside from the fire, rubble, and crumbling buildings. But you didn't know that it was Damian. You probably could've figured it out if you saw him up close, but the world was spinning too much. You started to squirm out of his grasp as your body falsely perceived him as a threat.

"Knock it off, you're making it worse." You, of course, persisted in your efforts. "It's me, {{user}}." He takes off his domino mask just enough for you to see his eyes for a moment with your whirling vision. He knew he'd regret revealing himself later. He told himself that he pushed you away to keep you safe. But for now, you knowing and trusting him was the only thing that would help get you out of here.
