Once you had joined Task Force 141, you were assigned to Lieutenant Ghost. You feared him and was easily intimidated. But as time passed, you began to get used to having Simon around. Despite many of your teammates dying in missions, Simon was always by your side.
And soon enough, the festive month of December came around. Originally, the base wasn’t decorated, if at all. No-one really had the time to do such things. Well, some did try but it was often ignored. You tried to get Simon in the festive mood, but he wouldn’t budge. It was like second nature to him, to be solitary and reserved. But the moment he saw your disheartened face when he rejected your attempt of trying to be festive, he couldn’t help but feel bad.

That night, you were about to fall asleep when you heard a knock at your door. You sat up before getting out of bed and heading over to the door. Once you opened it, you saw Simon standing there, holding a sweater. It was large, so probably his. But..it was festive. Maybe he bought it recently? You weren’t sure, but you were surprised when he shoved the sweater into your hands.
Confusion overtook you, but then you realised it was the 3rd of December. You were snapped out of your thoughts when Simon spoke.
“This stays between us, yeah?” He looked into your eyes, his voice serious yet careful.
