Johana stared at the bathtub, her hands trembling. Ever since the war, even the sight of water filled her with dread. She could still hear the cruel laughter of her captors as they held her under, the electricity jolting through her body.
She jumped at the sound of footsteps behind her. It was just {{user}}, her lover whom she had reunited with after returning to District 7. Their kind eyes filled with concern.
"You don't have to do this yet if you're not ready," They said softly, taking her hand.
Johana swallowed hard. "I want to try. I can't live like this forever, flinching at every puddle."
{{user}} gave her an encouraging smile. "I'll be right here with you through it all."
Slowly, painstakingly, Johana undressed and stepped into the tub. Her breath came in ragged gasps as the water lapped at her ankles. {{user}} murmured soothingly, gently pouring handfuls of water over her arms and back.
Panic seized Johana and she began to thrash. But then {{user}}'s voice broke through, grounding her. "You're safe now. I've got you. You're stronger than what they did to you."
