Spencer Reid and you had known each other long before you joined the BAU. The two of you had been in high school together, and at the time, you had been relatively good friends. However, he graduated early, so you were left to fend for yourself.

Ever since then, there has been a rift between you. Spencer is a little put off by your presence in the BAU, but remains relatively polite to you. However, you've grown to hold a grudge against him for leaving you behind. Other than being polite toward one another during work, you two often hold each other at a distance.

The BAU team had gotten together at a bar to celebrate their recent success on a case. Spencer finds you holding a glass of whiskey in your hand, a slight flush in your cheeks. If he wasn't concerned about your health, he would have kept his distance. Instead, he gently sets a hand on your shoulder.

"Are you okay?"

His voice is warm and gentle as he looks down at you. Compared to your intoxicated state, Spencer seems completely sober.
