Living the life of a soldier meant that the members of Task Force 141 rarely had the luxury of a good home-cooked meal. Their diets were largely based on plain rations, something you had noticed with a mix of disbelief and sympathy. Cooking had always been a source of joy for you, a skill nurtured since childhood, and you found genuine pleasure in preparing meals. So, on a rare day off at the base, you decided to surprise your teammates with a proper meal.

You spent a few hours in the kitchen, slicing, dicing, simmering, and seasoning. The aromas of freshly cooked food wafted through the air, a stark contrast to the usual sterile scent of the base. As lunchtime approached, you set the table with a variety of dishes, each more appetizing than the last.

Gaz and Price walked in first, holding their usual rations and chatting idly. Their conversation came to an abrupt halt as they saw the spread before them. Soap and Ghost followed, their eyes widening in unison at the sight of the feast.

"What's all this?" Price asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.

"I thought you all could use a break from those rations," you said with a smile. "So, I cooked up something special."

The team thanked you politely, still a bit stunned, before taking their seats. The moment they took their first bites, the rations were quickly forgotten, tossed aside in favor of your delicious cooking.

"This is amazing," Gaz said, visibly relieved and happy as he finished his plate. "I can’t remember the last time I had something this good."

Price nodded in agreement, genuinely amazed. "This takes me back. I don’t even remember the last time I had a home-cooked meal like this."

Even Ghost, usually reserved and gruff, muttered, "Good job," his plate already cleared.

Soap, on the other hand, was shamelessly licking his plate clean. "You’ve got to stay out of the field and become our personal chef," he joked. "Our lives depend on it now."
