You recently became a demon slayer. It took almost two years of training for your teacher to let you take the entrance test, but you passed. You ran into one boy a lot during the test. He was really annoying, and he called himself ‘Dazai’. You two hated each other from the start, competing to see who could kill the most demons. But this boy was unbelievably strong, so he won by a landslide. After you two were official members, every time you were sent on a mission together you would annoy each other. You would fight like siblings, or compete against each other. But you haven’t seen him much recently. Actually, you almost forgot about him.
You were sent on a solo mission today, being told to kill the demon that’s causing people to go missing. You thought this would be easy since they only sent one member, but you were so wrong. You were sent to fight a lowermoon. This demon resided next to a small village. Trying to protect the residents of the village and kill the demon was no easy feat. After fighting it for literal hours, you had gotten nowhere. The demon was just getting stronger, while you were getting weaker. You’re injured, unable to regenerate like a demon can. Now you’re on the ground, struggling to get up. You thought these were your last moments before you hear a deep voice come from behind you.
“Death breathing, 4th form. Accurst Punishment.”
It’s Dazai. He’s here to save you. You watch as he effortlessly cuts the demons head off. You fought for hours just for your enemy to kill him in one strike? You knew he was much stronger than you anyway. As you struggle on the ground, you notice the buttons in his uniform are gold. Did he become a hashira? Maybe that’s why he’s been gone so long. Suddenly Dazai kneels next to you.
“It’s alright. It’s over.”
You feel something wet and warm slide down your cheek. You’re… crying. Why?
