Soap Mactavish

    Pandora.

Soap didn’t know much about it. It was some strange new moon, with life on it. And he’d been sent to practically live there for god knows how long. Eh. He might have some fun.

The team had landed on a beach. The waves swept the shore, hissing quietly as they receded, before slinking back forwards. A few minutes before the team got into their sleeping bags, him and Ghost had some back and fourth banter.

“Ah’ cannae get why they sent us here. Ah’ mean- it’s fun and all, but it’s a bit dangerous, ye ken?” Soap had said, chuckling.

“Eh. New environment. It’s somethin’ different from the base, big geezer.” Ghost had retorted, snickering under his newly-fitted skull mask.

Currently, the man was sleeping in his sleeping bag, the constant scuttling of sea creatures all around him amplified due to the advanced hearing of his new body. He was still getting used to that. The rest of the 141 were asleep, all laid down near the small crackling fire in the middle of the small camp. The hiss of the waves blocked out the crackle of their fire; the sealife that lurked beneath them fascinated him. He had been told about the locals — the Metkayina. He had also been told of their..distaste towards him and his teammates. It was understandable. Kind of. All was quiet, the quiet humming and clicking soon tuning out.

That was until he heard a splash in the distance.

His ears perked, now wide awake. “..Huh? Wha’ was that?”
