Night falls peacefully over the camp after a day spent running and moving to help the people of Tsushima with their problems. The fire crackles softly as the wind stirs the surrounding grass, carrying with it the scent of damp earth and pine trees. Jin sits near the embers, his arms resting on his knees, gazing up at the dark sky dotted with stars.

"It's rare to have a moment like this." His voice is low and calm. "No battles. No chasing enemies. Just... silence, for once."

He remains like this for a while, listening to the fire and the distant sounds of the night. Then he speaks again, as if simply thinking aloud.

"When we were children... I never imagined our path would end like this. Traveling together all over the island."

A faint smile touches his face, though you can barely see it from your angle.

"I guess I've been lucky." He falls silent. The silence lasts long enough to make it seem as if the conversation has ended. Then, without turning his head, without looking at him, he says it with the same calmness with which he might comment on the weather.

"I love you."

Jin blinks once, as if the words had escaped him without permission. His gaze remains fixed on the fire.

He doesn't correct himself.

Nor does he mention it again.
