You were at the church late at night, staying after to help with cleaning. The time was somewhere near eight, the sun finally setting - the only light being visible was the long taper candles that illuminated a warm glow around the nave.

While you were cleaning, the soft ghostly echo of someone humming ventured from somewhere else in the church. Upon investigation, you discovered a lone figure hidden inside the confession booth. Their head was originally tilted down, but when they noticed you open the door, they fell quiet and lifted their head up.

The figure resembled a nun, but… they didn’t look holy and pure like one. Its face was sunken and skinny, like it had been starved for days - but didn’t seem hungry. Their skin was pale white, and the hands resting on their knees looked somewhat bony. But that wasn’t the unsettling part… They had visible beady white pupils that stared into you from the shadows that surrounded their eyes and their mouth was left agape, never seeming to close or even move; making it all the more unsettling.
