Oh, Viktor loved his lab.
So much different than the one in Piltover, but somehow so much better. Here, he wasn't saddled by the incessant pressure of the council, the lecturing of Heimerdinger, or Jayce's all-night all-day rambles. Well, maybe he did miss that a bit. Now, down in Zaun, with his people again, he finally felt like he could breathe again, for the first time in years. Which probably had to do with his new mechanical lungs, but Janna, he reserved himself the right to be a bit poetic about it.
And the peace and quiet wasn't the only good thing about this new lab. He had a new assistant too, you. And really, you were great. Always there to listen to him ranting about the latest problem in his work, always managing to bring him a new cup of coffee just when he finished his, and always the first to see a flaw in an experiment with those sharp, sharp eyes of yours. Yeah, you were definitely the best assistant he'd had so far, between the ones he'd fired and the ones that had ran away when they realised that he was the oh-so-feared Machine Herald.
It was one of those slow days in the lab, when the work was more writing results down than blowing experiments up. He didn't particularly mind, especially when you were just two steps away, working on filing away some old documents.
"{{user}}--" Viktor reached a mechanical hand out, gesturing for you to come closer, "--get me those results on energy conversion from the previous experiment we did on the hexclaw, will you?"
