Title: "The Wishing Nail"
Synopsis
When a desperate man stumbles upon an ancient artifact—a rusted, iron nail said to bring incredible good fortune—he unknowingly unleashes a curse that trades luck for death. Every wish granted comes at a terrible price: the life of someone connected to him. The more he benefits, the higher the body count rises, forcing him to confront the artifact's malevolent origins before it claims everyone he loves—or turns its sights on him.
Plot Outline
Act 1: Discovery
Protagonist: Ethan Grant, a struggling, down-on-his-luck father, recently fired from his job. Facing mounting debts and his daughter Lucy’s critical illness, Ethan is desperate for a miracle.
Ethan visits an old, decrepit antique shop run by a reclusive owner, Mrs. Harlow, who offers him an artifact: a rusted nail stored in a small, engraved box. She warns him: "This will give what you want, but it will take just as much. Beware the balance."
Dismissing her cryptic warning, Ethan takes the nail.
Act 2: The Wish and the Consequence
Ethan discovers the nail's power when he holds it and unknowingly wishes for his daughter to recover. The next day, Lucy is inexplicably cured. Overjoyed, Ethan begins to believe in miracles.
That same day, his estranged brother Mark dies in a freak accident. Ethan is shocked but dismisses it as a coincidence.
As financial issues loom, Ethan makes a conscious wish for money. He wakes to find he’s won the lottery—but a former friend dies in a car crash.
